Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has directed that 30 campaign vehicles donated to the President Bola Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement be parked at the Government House, Osogbo, pending a stakeholders’ decision on how they will be deployed for the 2027 general elections.

The governor also announced plans to convene a meeting with relevant stakeholders to develop a strategic arrangement for the use of the vehicles and other campaign logistics, stressing that the resources must serve their intended political purpose.

Adeleke gave the directive following the inauguration of the movement in Osun over the weekend, where its founder, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, represented by Dr Kestin Pondi, unveiled 30 specially equipped vehicles fitted with public-address speakers, generators and amplifiers.

The governor, who is the Osun State Coordinator of the President Bola Tinubu Campaign Council, said the vehicles should remain within the Government House premises until an agreed deployment plan was reached.

“In a bid to ensure productive deployment of the vehicles and other logistics donated by the door-to-door organisation, I will soon convene a stakeholders’ meeting to determine a deployment strategy.

“All the donated vehicles should therefore be parked on the open field within the Government House pending the stakeholders’ decision. I must also warn that the vehicles are strictly for the presidential campaign. We will not tolerate the diversion of the vehicles for personal purposes,” he said.

The directive comes amid growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, with different political groups and stakeholders in Osun beginning to organise support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

At the inauguration, Ekpemupolo said the vehicles and other resources to be provided by the movement would be channelled through Adeleke in his capacity as the state coordinator of the presidential campaign.

He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s economic reforms, arguing that the policies were beginning to yield results through improved government revenue, timely payment of salaries and renewed investor interest.

“We believe in the man’s reformation agenda, and we believe that he is what Nigeria needs at this point in time. Our economy is stable, and investors are returning to Nigeria,” he said.

Also speaking, former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, represented by Bola Oyebamiji, urged the 10,000 canvassers engaged by the movement to carry out their assignment with sincerity, discipline and commitment.

Oyetola also called on political stakeholders to put aside personal interests and differences, insisting that unity and effective grassroots mobilisation would be crucial to achieving the campaign’s objectives.

“With unity of purpose, effective grassroots mobilisation, and unwavering commitment, we can deliver the 1.5 million votes targeted for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Osun State and secure victory for our party’s candidates at all levels,” he said.

Similarly, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, appealed to residents, including students, youths and civil servants, to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Adekanbi said the movement was targeting two million votes for the President in Osun, urging eligible voters to make use of their Permanent Voter Cards in the coming election.

The inauguration attracted political figures from the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party and Accord, including APC National Secretary, Dr Ajibola Basiru; Accord State Chairman, Victor Akande; and Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal.

The presence of representatives from the three parties reflected the broad political gathering around the campaign, although Adeleke’s latest directive suggests that the deployment of the donated resources will be subject to further consultation among stakeholders.
