Iran Offers to Reopen Strait of Hormuz Within 48 Hours If US Accepts Its Demands
Iran has indicated its readiness to reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz within two days, provided the United States agrees to its demands, according to a statement attributed to Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

The development could mark a significant step towards easing tensions between Tehran and Washington, particularly amid concerns over disruptions to international shipping and the potential consequences for global energy supplies.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes, serving as a major passageway for global oil and gas shipments. Any restriction on movement through the waterway has significant implications for international oil prices, energy security and the global economy.
Iranian officials have reportedly outlined conditions that include relief from US sanctions, the lifting of restrictions on Iranian oil exports, the release of frozen Iranian assets and changes to the American military presence in the region. Tehran is also seeking recognition of a proposed shipping arrangement through the strait.
The proposal is being discussed through Qatari mediators as diplomatic efforts continue to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
However, the proposed reopening is not yet a concluded agreement. Washington has not publicly accepted Iran’s conditions, while Tehran insists that the necessary steps must be taken before normal navigation can resume.
The coming days could therefore prove crucial in determining whether diplomatic negotiations will produce an agreement capable of restoring shipping activities through the strategic waterway.
The world is watching closely as the United States and Iran weigh the possibility of a diplomatic breakthrough.
