Troops repel terrorist attack on military base in Borno
Operation HADIN KAI troops have repelled a major attack by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists on a military base in Borno State.
According to the military, the terrorists launched a coordinated assault on Forward Operating Base Gajibo using motorcycles and approached from multiple directions.
Troops reportedly detected the movement early and responded with heavy firepower, including mortar attacks, forcing the insurgents to retreat.
The military said no casualties were recorded among troops during the encounter.
The operation forms part of ongoing offensives aimed at sustaining pressure on terrorist groups and disrupting insurgent activities across the North East.
