The Command said the facility was equipped for cultivating, harvesting and processing substances suspected to be cannabis.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, both suspects lived at the property searched by the operatives.
They are currently in police custody and have allegedly made confessional statements while providing information to assist the ongoing investigation.
The police said the discovery followed an intelligence-driven search of the premises, which exposed an indoor farming operation fitted with equipment for the production and processing of suspected cannabis.
Following the discovery, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, visited the property to inspect the facility, assess the scale of the operation and receive updates on the investigation.
Fatai commended the operatives for acting on the intelligence and successfully uncovering the suspected drug production facility.
He also reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling drug-related offences, dismantling criminal networks and preventing criminals from using Lagos State as a base for their activities.
The police commissioner also acknowledged the support of residents in providing information to security agencies and urged members of the public to continue reporting suspicious activities to the police.
The Command assured residents that it would sustain intelligence-led operations and other proactive measures to combat criminal activities across the state.
The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to establish the full extent of the alleged operation and determine whether other individuals were involved.
