JUST IN: Nigerian Army Troops Rescue Two Kidnapped Victims, Recover ₦3.8 Million Ransom In Kogi

The gallant troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered a ransom sum of ₦3.8 million from suspected bandits in Kogi State.

According to a military source, the operation was carried out following credible intelligence on the movement of the kidnappers who had been terrorizing parts of the state. The troops, attached to Operation Whirl Stroke, reportedly intercepted the criminals along a forest route linking Kogi and Benue states.

During the encounter, a fierce gun duel ensued, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their victims and flee into the forest. The troops immediately secured the area, rescued the captives unhurt, and recovered the ransom money that had just been paid by relatives of the victims.

Items recovered from the scene included several mobile phones, ammunition, and motorcycles used by the kidnappers for their operations.
The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families after undergoing medical checks, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

Reacting to the development, the Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke commended the troops for their swift response and dedication to duty. He assured residents that the Nigerian Army remains committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property across Kogi and its neighboring states.
Meanwhile, Kogi State residents have applauded the army’s efforts, describing the rescue as a sign of renewed determination in the fight against kidnapping and banditry in the region.
