Pastor Adeboye Recounts How Poor Prophet Predicted His International Ministry in 1961

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has recounted how a poor and seriously ill prophet predicted his future international ministry in 1961, years before he became a prominent Christian leader.

Adeboye shared the experience during a recent sermon published on YouTube, recalling that he was working as a teacher after completing his studies when he encountered the prophet in Ilesha, Osun State.

According to the cleric, the prophet lived in the same rented house with his family and was struggling with poverty and serious illness. Adeboye said he felt compassion for the man and decided to give him some money to support him.

He explained that after receiving the money, the prophet looked at him for a while before making a declaration about his future. The man reportedly told him that he would one day travel abroad as easily as people travelled to the market and would eventually dedicate his life to the work of God.

Adeboye said he initially found the prediction difficult to believe because of the prophet’s poor living conditions. He wondered how someone who was battling illness and financial difficulties could make such a remarkable declaration about his future.

However, the RCCG leader explained that the prophecy began to make sense 13 years later when he attended a church service and responded to an altar call for salvation. He described the experience as a turning point in his life and the beginning of the fulfilment of the prediction made in 1961.

Reflecting on the experience, Adeboye encouraged Christians not to judge their future by their present circumstances, stressing that God can transform the lives of people regardless of their current situations.

He further urged believers not to underestimate what God can accomplish through individuals who may appear insignificant today.
