FG N50,000 Relief Payment: OPay Users Can Now Check 
OPay users can now check whether they have been selected to receive the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) payment.
Some OPay customers have reportedly received SMS notifications informing them that they have been selected for the relief payment.
The messages explain that the money is free and intended to help beneficiaries cope with the rising cost of living.
Selected recipients are instructed to dial *955*20# or log in to their OPay accounts to check and accept the payment.
How to Check Your OPay NERSI ₦50,000 Relief Payment Status
OPay customers can check their eligibility through the USSD option or the OPay mobile application.
Method 1: Check Through USSD
01 | Open the phone dialler on your mobile device.
02 | Dial *955*20# using your registered OPay phone number.
03 | Follow the prompts displayed to check whether you have been selected.
04 | If eligible, follow the instructions to accept the ₦50,000 relief payment.
Method 2: Check Through the OPay App
OPay users can also check their eligibility directly through the mobile application.
01 | Open your OPay app.
02 | Log in to your account.
03 | Check for a NERSI relief payment notification or offer.
04 | If you have been selected, follow the instructions provided to accept the payment.
What If You Have Not Been Selected?
Not every OPay customer will qualify for the payment.
Users who are not selected may receive a notification stating:
“Thanks for your interest. You have not been selected for this relief payment at this time.”
This means the customer has not been selected for the current relief payment.
Is OPay Paying the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 NERSI Grant?
OPay was not among the payment platforms initially listed alongside Wema Bank, MoMo PSB and NairaGram.
However, the reported SMS notifications suggest that some OPay customers are now being contacted about NERSI payments. This does not confirm that every OPay customer is eligible or that all accounts will receive the payment.
Customers should check directly through official OPay channels to confirm their eligibility.
Important Warning to OPay Users
The NERSI relief payment is described as free for selected beneficiaries. Do not pay anyone who claims they can help you secure the ₦50,000 payment.
Also, never share your OPay PIN, password or one-time password (OTP) with anyone claiming to process your relief payment.
