Atiku leads Obi, others in online poll to replace Tinubu
An online poll organized by the Tinubu Must Go movement, asking Nigerians who among the leading presidential candidates they would vote for in the 2027 presidential election has seen the former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar as the most preferred choice for the position of president in 2027.
The poll which lasted 24 hours from September 24 to 25, has a total of 109,799 respondents.
Of the figure, 80,809 voted for the Atiku/Amaechi ticket, representing 73.6 percent, while 24,519, representing 22.3 percent of respondents cast their vote for the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
4,471 other respondents, indicating 4.1 percent voted for other candidates in the online poll.
According to a statement by the pollsters, “approximately seven minutes after voting commenced, the figures stood at about 76.6 percent in support of the Atiku/Amaechi ticket and 20.9 percent for Obi/Kwankwaso.
The Tinubu Must Go movement is being promoted by Abba Hikima, and the group has grown in reputation for its opposition against the Tinubu administration on account of the hardship occasioned by its economic policies.
“As participation expanded dramatically, the percentages settled and remained remarkably consistent,” the pollsters’ statement said.
The TMG movement noted further that, “a comprehensive report documenting the methodology and participation growth, timestamps analysis, reach, limitations and organizational significance of the exercise will be published in due course.”
