Young Man Arrested After Poisoning His Sick Father in Hospital
A disturbing family incident in Imo State has left many people shocked after a young man was arrested for poisoning food he took to his sick father in the hospital.

The young man reportedly brought the food to his father, intending to kill him. But before the father could eat, something about the meal caught his attention.
There were three unusually large pieces of meat in the soup.
The sight immediately made him suspicious. According to the father, he could not remember the last time his wife had used meat to prepare soup. He therefore decided to smell the food before eating it.
That was when he noticed a strange smell from the soup.
He immediately called his wife and asked her whether she had added meat to the soup. She told him no.
Realising that something was wrong, the father raised the alarm and contacted the village security personnel.
The young man was subsequently arrested.
During the incident, the young man admitted that he had poisoned the food because he wanted to kill his father. He said he did it because his father had told him that he was not his son.
But the father gave a different account.
He explained that he had never told the young man that he was not his son. What he actually told him, according to his account, was that his son’s behaviour did not show that he is his father.
What was supposed to be a simple visit to a sick father in the hospital therefore turned into a frightening family drama one that could have ended in tragedy if the father had eaten the poisoned food.
The incident has left many people wondering how a disagreement between a father and his son could become so serious that the son would contemplate taking his father’s life.
Sometimes, the most painful conflicts are not between strangers, but between people who share the same blood.
The young man was arrested, while the circumstances surrounding the alleged poisoning remain a matter for the appropriate authorities to establish.
