World oldest Dog passes away at 31

Bobi, the beloved Portuguese dog who became famous around the world for reportedly living to the incredible age of 31, passed away after an extraordinary life filled with love and companionship! 🐶❤️

The remarkable dog lived in the small village of Conqueiros, Portugal, where he spent his entire life surrounded by the family who adored him.

And his story captured hearts around the world!

Bobi was a Rafeiro do Alentejo, a Portuguese dog breed that typically lives for around 12 to 14 years.

But according to his owner, Leonel Costa, Bobi had been born in May 1992 and lived for an astonishing 31 years and 165 days!

His owner believed several things contributed to his extraordinary longevity.

Unlike many dogs, Bobi was never kept on a chain and was allowed to roam freely around the peaceful countryside near his home.

He also enjoyed home-cooked meals prepared by his family, with seasonings removed to make the food suitable for him.

And perhaps most importantly, he spent his life in a calm, loving environment surrounded by people who cared deeply for him.

In May 2023, Bobi celebrated his reported 31st birthday with an enormous party attended by more than 100 people!

His extraordinary age attracted international attention, and Guinness World Records initially recognised him as the oldest dog ever recorded.

However, the organisation later withdrew the record because there wasn’t enough reliable documentation to independently verify his birth date.

Sadly, Bobi passed away on October 20, 2023, leaving behind a family who had loved him for what they believed was more than three decades.

And although his exact age remains uncertain, his story continues to touch animal lovers around the world.

For his family, Bobi was far more than a record-breaking dog. He was a loyal companion who had been part of their lives for an extraordinary length of time.
