Woman Arrested After Man She Lodged With In Abuja Hotel Dies, Two Staff Members Held For Dumping Body
According to an account of the incident, Mohammed and the man had checked into the guest house to spend time together when the man reportedly slumped while returning from the restroom.

Awoman, identified as Mrs Rukayat Mohammed, has been arrested after a man she lodged with at Good Samaritan Guest House in Gwarimpa, Abuja, reportedly slumped and died in their hotel room.
Two hotel staff members, identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, were also accused of removing the deceased’s body from the hotel and dumping it under the Katampe Bridge along the Kubwa Expressway instead of reporting the incident to the police.
According to an account of the incident, Mohammed and the man had checked into the guest house to spend time together when the man reportedly slumped while returning from the restroom.
Rather than raising an alarm immediately, Mohammed allegedly took the man’s phone and left the room.
Hotel staff members reportedly became suspicious when the occupants failed to come out at the scheduled checkout time.
They subsequently forced the door open and found the man’s lifeless body on the floor.
Instead of alerting the police, the two staff members allegedly removed the body and dumped it under the Katampe Bridge along the Kubwa Expressway.
The deceased’s family later reported him missing, prompting a police investigation.
Detectives reportedly used technical investigations to trace the man’s last phone communication to Mohammed, who was subsequently tracked down and arrested.
During questioning, Mohammed said the man had been experiencing health challenges and was taking medication.
Speaking to newsmen in a video obtained by SaharaReporters, she said the man slumped after going to the restroom.
“I went with a man in the hotel. The man slumped and died,” she said.
Asked how the incident happened, Mohammed explained: “He went to the bedroom to ease himself (urinate). Coming back, he slumped and died.”
When asked whether the man had taken any drugs, she initially said he had not taken any drugs but acknowledged that he had been sick.
She later confirmed that he was taking medication and said he had been taken to the National Hospital for treatment.
Asked why she left the room after the man slumped, Mohammed said she went outside with his phone, hoping to contact someone who could be informed about the incident.
“I went outside to take his phone and if I can get any of his contacts to call them that something happened like this,” she said.
She added that she discovered she could not access his contacts on the phone.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death, including the nature of his health challenges and the cause of death, were not established in the account available to SaharaReporters.
Efforts by SaharaReporters to reach the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh, for comments and an update on the incident were unsuccessful, as she neither answered calls nor responded to a message sent to her.
