Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has criticised the Federal Government over the recent handover of official houses to judges in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), questioning the legal basis for the gesture. Falana made the remarks during a broadcast aired by News Central TV, where he reacted to the commissioning of newly built residences in the Federal Capital Territory for members of the judiciary.
Expressing concern over the development, the senior lawyer said he was troubled by the manner in which the houses were presented to judges. “It was very sad when I saw that the Federal Government was handing over the keys of houses to judges, and I asked myself, under what law are we operating from?” Falana said.
