Trump Alleges Secret Nuclear Tests by Russia and China, Calls for Global Disarmament

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has accused Russia and China of secretly conducting nuclear weapons tests, claiming the two nations are keeping such activities hidden from the global community.

In an interview on CBS News’ “60 Minutes” aired on Sunday, Trump dismissed reports that Russia’s recent military actions were mere delivery system trials, insisting both Moscow and Beijing were actively testing nuclear warheads in secrecy.

“North Korea is testing all the time. Russia’s testing, and China’s testing too, but they don’t talk about it,” Trump stated.

He argued that, unlike authoritarian regimes, the United States maintains transparency due to its open society. “We have to talk about it; otherwise, the media will. They don’t have reporters who can expose them, but we do,” he said.

Trump reaffirmed that the U.S. holds the largest number of nuclear warheads, while calling for a global effort toward nuclear disarmament, warning that the world’s top three nuclear powers “have enough weapons to destroy the planet 150 times.”

Commenting on reports of Chinese cyber infiltration targeting America’s infrastructure and data systems, Trump admitted that both nations “keep close tabs” on each other but maintained that cooperation could still yield mutual benefits.

The former president also denied claims of political retribution following the indictments of former officials, including James Comey, John Bolton, and Letitia James, saying, “They went after me to stop my presidential bid, but I beat the rap.”

On Venezuela, Trump hinted that the growing U.S. military activity around the region could signal the end of President Nicolas Maduro’s rule, saying, “I think his days are numbered.”
