TROOPS RECOVER 84 STOLEN COWS, ARREST SUSPECTS AFTER ATTACK ON FULANI HERDERS

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Operation ENDURING PEACE have reportedly recovered 84 stolen cows and arrested several suspects following an alleged attack on Fulani herders in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to security sources cited by Zagazola, troops deployed to Dokku responded on Thursday to a report of cattle theft behind Makera Market.

The soldiers launched a search-and-rescue operation and tracked the stolen cattle to an area near a river. All 84 cows were recovered and returned to their rightful owner.

The arrested suspects, identified in the original report as members of the Birom community, are currently in military custody for further investigation. However, their alleged involvement has not been independently verified.

The incident highlights the need for a thorough investigation and peaceful cooperation between communities to prevent further violence and promote lasting peace in Plateau State.
