Peter Obi’s Party Faces Fresh Crisis in Cross River as Chairman’s Name Surfaces on APC List

NDC State Chairman in Cross River State, Mr. Goddie Akpama now appointed as APC Campaign Council member for 2027 general election.

Goddie Akpama, the NDC State Chairman in Cross River state has just been appointed as “Member of APC Campaign Council” in Cross River state: A call for concern and the hope for the NDC Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi and all the NDC Candidates for the 2027 general election.

Barely few weeks after the release of the Gubernatorial candidates list in Nigeria when it was obvious that the INEC did not fill in NDC Gubernatorial candidate and the Deputy for the forthcoming general election in 2027, just yesterday, another APC Campaign Council list surfaced on social media carrying the name of Goddie Akpama in N0.95 of the list, as Member of the APC campaign council in Cross River state.

While many stakeholders are surprised of this new development, questions are been asked in different quarters of the constant resurgence of the name of the NDC State Chairman in the profile of the APC in Cross River state.

A few months ago, there were several allegations and proves that the same NDC State Chairman is been bankrolled by the APC government. Not less than two pay slips were published showing how he was still under the payroll of the APC. Following that development, the same Chairman ran to the mainstream media to write a disclaimer and sworn his allegiance to the NDC. But the shocking news today is that, his name has been finally and fully published as one of the members of the APC Campaign Council for the 2027 election.

Questions that all well meaning Cross Riverians and Nigerians are left to ask are as follows:

1. Is Goddie Akpama a member of the APC or NDC in Cross River state?

2. Was he sent to the NDC as a mole or to build the structure for the APC?

3. He has not been intentional about the activities of NDC in Cross River state. Does it mean that he had this plan abnitio? This is because, Prince Victor Ategwu Akpam, the Pioneer member of the NDC in Cross River state visited Calabar, the state Capital of Cross River state a few weeks ago and found out that they was no single NDC poster or Billboard in the while city, citing the situation as intentional plan to demarket the party and its presidential candidate as well as other participating position candidates.

4. Was Goddie Akpama installed in the NDC by the APC to sell the structure at the end of the day?

5. Why is the National Working Committee of the NDC not taking action against the State Chairman after several petitions and vote of no confidence have passed on him?

Until the above questions are answered, the party may suffer setback in the coming election. While Peter Obi’s victory stands threatened, all the NDC Candidates may likely face difficulty in winning their elections in Cross River state.

Way forward:
The National Working Committee under the auspices of the Chairman of our great party must as a matter of urgency, call the Party State Chairman to order and investigate all of these developments for further action.

Prince Victor Ategwu Akpam
Former NDC FHR Aspirant for Bekwarrra, Obanlikwu and Obudu (BOO).
