TROOPS NEUTRALISES SIX ISWAP TERRORISTS RECOVERING CACHES OF AMMUNITION IN KAGA

Troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade, in conjunction with members of the Hybrid Force, have neutralised six Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during an ambush at the Targejeri crossing point in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State, reaffirming the Nigerian Army’s resolve to track and dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace across the North-East.

The operation, conducted on the basis of credible intelligence on terrorist movements within the area, underscores the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations and inter-agency collaboration in denying insurgents freedom of movement and disrupting their criminal activities.

Items recovered from the neutralised terrorists include one AK-47 rifle, three magazines and 169 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. Other recoveries comprise one Infinix Android phone, one Redmi Android phone, three button phones and some charms.

The Nigerian Army reiterates its unwavering commitment to sustaining offensive operations against insurgents and other criminal elements threatening the peace and security of the nation. This successful operation sends a clear warning to terrorists and their collaborators that their movements, networks and activities will continue to face decisive action by security forces.

We therefore warns all insurgents, informants, logistics suppliers and other collaborators to immediately abandon their unlawful activities or face the full weight of ongoing military operations. Members of the public are also urged to support security efforts by providing credible and timely information on suspicious movements and activities to the appropriate authorities.
