Troops Arrest Six, Dismantle Illegal Bûnkering Site in Lagos

Troops of the 65 Battalion, Nigerian Army, have dismantled a suspected illegal bunkering site in the Orile area of Lagos and arrested six suspects during an intelligence-led operation.

The raid, led by Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel S. Adeojo, followed credible intelligence on the illegal activity. Soldiers apprehended six suspects and recovered four trucks, a pumping machine, pipes, and drums believed to have been used for illegal oil bunkering.

The suspects and recovered items have been handed over to the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for further investigation and legal action.

Commending the troops, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, urged them to sustain the fight against economic sabotage and other criminal activities in the division’s area of responsibility.
