Tinubu Dispatches High-Powered Delegation to Ogbomoso Following School Kidnap Incident
A high-powered presidential delegation has arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to secure the release of pupils and teachers abducted during a coordinated attack on two schools in the area.
The delegation, led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, includes the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; the Inspector General of Police, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe; and the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communications, Sunday Dare.
According to information shared by Sunday Dare, the delegation is en route to the communities of Esiele and Yawota in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where armed men reportedly launched simultaneous attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools, abducting approximately 46 pupils and teachers.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among residents and Nigerians across the country, with security agencies working around the clock to rescue the victims and apprehend those responsible.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is said to have activated a series of coordinated security operations aimed at ensuring the safe return of the kidnapped children and school staff. The visit by the presidential delegation underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the situation and reassuring affected communities.
Security officials are expected to assess the situation on the ground, engage local stakeholders, and oversee ongoing rescue efforts as authorities intensify the search for the abductors.
