The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development and the convener of the O’ Datiwa women initiative in Ondo state has applauded The  Governor of Ondo State and The State Cordinator of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, His Excellency Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for appointing her  as Chairman of the Women Affairs Subcommittee of the  2027 Ondo State APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

She described the appointment as a demonstration of the governor’s confidence in women’s leadership capacity and a positive step towards strengthening women’s participation in politics, governance and grassroots mobilisation.

In a statement, released by the commissioner for women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for recognising the contributions of women to the growth and development of the party, noting that their involvement remained crucial to effective political mobilisation and democratic participation.

Dr Osamaye also praised the Ondo State APC leadership, particularly the State Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Ameachi, for supporting initiatives that promote women’s visibility and inclusion in the party’s political activities.

According to her, the appointment reflects the importance of entrusting women with strategic responsibilities in the political process, especially as the APC prepares for the 2027 presidential election, She predicts  that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be reelected massively in Ondo State and in Nigeria. And that the All Progressives Congress, The APC will sweep all the votes.

She  noted that women constitute a formidable force in grassroots politics and community mobilisation, adding that their inclusion in strategic campaign positions would help strengthen the party’s engagement with communities across the state.

The Commissioner further commended the First Lady of Ondo State, her Excellency Mrs Esther Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, for her support for women’s advancement and the promotion of opportunities for women to contribute meaningfully to political development.

She expressed confidence that Ondo State women will be  mobilised   across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State to deepen the   grassroots.

She urged women across the state to take advantage of the opportunity to participate actively in the political process, stressing that increased involvement in political mobilisation would strengthen their voice and influence in governance.

Dr Osamaye reaffirmed her  support for Governor Aiyedatiwa and the Ondo State APC leadership, expressing optimism that sustained recognition of women’s contributions would promote greater inclusion and strengthen the party’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Commissioner called for continued collaboration between the government, party leadership and women stakeholders to ensure that women are not only mobilised for electoral success but also given greater opportunities to contribute to decision-making and leadership.

She further appreciated the leadership for the appointment of the co- chairman of the  committee and the APC State Women leader , Erelu princess  Yemisi Iji and   a long list of other great women leaders  in the state in the committee saying their Appointment represents quality representation for women in Ondo state.
