Simon Ekpa Faces Crucial Court Decision Tomorrow Over Terrorism-Related Conviction

Convicted Biafra separatist leader Simon Njoku Ekpa is expected to learn the outcome of his appeal tomorrow, as a Finnish court is scheduled to hear his challenge against his conviction and six-year prison sentence over t3rrorism-related and other cr!minal offences.

Ekpa, the self-acclaimed Biafra ‘Prime Minister’, was convicted by a Finnish Court of t3rrorism-related offences, fr@ud and other cr!mes linked to his activities under the guise of Biafra agitation. He was subsequently sentenced to six years in prison but later appealed the judgment. The court has scheduled October 15, 2026, for the hearing of his appeal.

In Nigeria, Ekpa has been accused of sponsoring the proscribed armed wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Eastern Security Network (ESN), which has been linked to v!olent activities in the South-East.

If his appeal is unsuccessful, Ekpa’s six-year prison sentence could remain in force, or he may face measures that could lead to his extradition to Nigeria.
