Supreme Court Judgment Shakes PDP as Interim NWC Takes Full Control

…..As Court Dismisses Anyanwu’s Cross-Appeal……

SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT: THE END OF AN ILLEGITIMATE ERA; ABREAST OF THE LAW, THE INTERIM NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE (iNWC) ASSUMES TOTAL CONTROL OF THE PDP.

ABUJA, NIGERIA.

The release of the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Supreme Court judgment today has extinguished the flames of illegitimacy that have flickered within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The unanimous dismissal of the cross-appeal filed by the former National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and others, is the final judicial burial of an era marked by defiance of party discipline and constitutional order.

The Supreme Court has spoken with one voice: the suspension of Samuel Anyanwu and his cohorts remains valid and subsisting. In the eyes of the law, a suspended official is a legal non-entity regarding party administration.

Consequently, any action, appointment, or communiqué issued by Mr. Anyanwu and his cohorts during this period is null, void, and of no legal consequence whatsoever.

The so-called National Convention held on March 29, 2026, in Abuja, was a charade—a desperate attempt to legitimize a factional agenda through the hands of suspended and expelled individuals.

• Fact: You cannot build something on nothing.

• Verdict: Since the conveners lacked the legal capacity to act, the entire March 29 exercise is a nullity ab initio. Any “leadership” emerging from that gathering is a product of illegality and will not be recognized by any organ of this party or the laws of the Federation.

To prevent a leadership vacuum and to rescue our great party from the clutches of those who would see it destroyed for personal gain, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, at its 103rd meeting under the leadership of Senator Adolphus Wabara, appointed an Interim National Working Committee (iNWC).

Chaired by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, the NWC has formally assumed the administrative leadership of the PDP. This is in strict accordance with the empowering provisions of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).

On the CROSS-APPEAL, please see Pages: 34; 81; 98; 101; 130 – 139. All Five Justices DISMISSED the Cross Appeal filed by Samuel Anyanwu and others.

This is one side interpretation of the court judgement.
