Omeudo Backs Egbema Security Initiative, Urges Proper Government Coordination

The Egbema Central Security Network, led by its commander, Ifeanyi Goodluck, popularly known as Sakatan, has paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, MFR (Omeudo).
The visit came as Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, MFR, who recently laid his mother-in-law to rest, remained at home with his wife, Mrs. Nonye Uju Kingsley, Esq., receiving and appreciating friends, associates, and well-wishers who stood by the family during their period of bereavement.
During the visit, the Egbema Central Security Network explained that its primary objective is to contribute to the eradication of criminality across Egbema, particularly kidnapping, cultism, and the establishment of smoking bunkers, which they noted often serve as breeding grounds for robbery and other forms of criminal activity.
Speaking on the composition of the group, the commander explained that its members were drawn from various communities and from existing security structures, including the Homeland Security Network, Ohaji/Egbema, established by the Imo State Government under the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma, as well as selected individuals nominated by the Ezes of the various autonomous communities.
In his response, Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, MFR (Omeudo), welcomed the initiative but stressed the importance of government authorization and proper coordination in security operations.
He stated that he would not support any security outfit operating without government backing, emphasizing that any security initiative operating under the directives and approval of the government should be encouraged and supported.
Omeudo further advised the group to work closely with the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), all of which are actively involved in security operations in Ohaji/Egbema. He commended the various security agencies operating in Ohaji/Egbema for what he described as their remarkable achievements in maintaining peace and security across the area.
Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, MFR, also commended His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, for his commitment to security and governance in Imo State. He pledged his continued support for the Governor and called on youths in the area to support government efforts by contributing positively to the peace and development of their communities.
In recognition of the young men’s determination and commitment to making Egbema a community where crime has no place, Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, MFR (Omeudo) through the former MD of ISOPADEC presented the Egbema Central Security Network with a brand new motorcycle and cash assistance to support their mobility and security activities.
The gesture was received with appreciation by the group, which reiterated its commitment to working toward a safer and more secure Egbema.
