NSCDC arrests two over alleged unlicensed private security operations in Kwara State

Operatives of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, have arrested two suspects, Abraham Stephen Job and Adebowale Qazeem Adeniyi, over the alleged operation of a private security outfit identified as “Double Razzor,” without the requisite licence.

ASC Ayoola Michael Shola, Kwara State Command’s Public Relations Officer, in a statement, said the arrest followed an investigation into the outfit’s activities.

“The alleged offences under investigation include operating a private security outfit without the requisite licence and providing regulated private security services without the required statutory authorisation, contrary to applicable laws and regulations governing private guard companies in Nigeria,” he said.

The statement added that the NSCDC is statutorily responsible for regulating and licensing private guard companies, even as it warned that operators must comply with the relevant legal requirements before commencing regulated security activities.
