Newlyweds Abducted Between Iyemero and Eruku Regain Freedom After ₦10m Ransom Payment

A kidnapped newlywed couple, identified as Funmilayo and her husband, have regained their freedom after spending 21 days in captivity following their abduction between Iyemero and Eruku on September 26, 2026.

A local source disclosed that the groom’s uncle died while in captivity, adding that his body had not been released as of the time of filing this report.

Reports confirmed that the Armed bandits freed the newlyweds following the payment of a ₦10 million ransom.

The couple have been reunited with their family after their release.
