Man Invites Girl to Hotel, Allegedly Slaughters Her — Police Say Suspect Claimed Responsibility

A woman has d!€d following an incident at No Vex Hotel in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

According to the Adamawa State Police Command, officers responded to a report of an altercation at the hotel on August 14, 2026.

The victim was found with s£vere injvries and in a pool of bl0od. She was rushed to a medical facility, where she was confirmed d€ad by the doctor on duty.

The Police identified the suspect as Ali Haruna ‘M’, 27, of Bolori Ward, Maiduguri, Borno State, who has been arr€sted.

The Police said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly made statements claiming responsibility for the act. A kn!fe allegedly used in the incident was also recovered from the suspect and will be treated as an exh!bit.

The State Cr!minal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the investigation to establish the circumstances and motive behind the incident.

The Police urged the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information and refrain from jungle justice while the investigation continues.

The Police said anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
