JUST IN: “WE WON”, DAVIDO SHOUTS AS ACCORD PARTY SITUATION ROOM ERUPTS IN JOY
OSUN: Afrobeats superstar Davido could not hide his excitement on Saturday as results from the 2026 Osun State governorship election continued to favour his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party.
In a video shared online, Davido was seen celebrating inside the Accord Party’s situation room, shouting “We won” as party members around him cheered and danced. The clip has since spread fast across social media, with many Nigerians reacting to the singer’s excitement.
According to results collated so far, the Accord Party has been leading the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate Bola Oyebamiji by a wide margin, with results uploaded from most of the state’s polling units. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is yet to formally declare a winner, as collation from the remaining units continues.
Throughout the election, Davido has been active online, raising concerns about security withdrawal, BVAS camera issues and alleged attempts to manipulate figures. His constant commentary has made him one of the most talked about voices around the Osun election.
Many residents told Extra News Nigeria they are waiting anxiously for INEC’s official declaration, even as celebrations have already begun in some parts of the state.
The final outcome of the election remains important to Osun people, many of whom see it as a decision that will shape the state’s direction for years to come.
