LG Chairman Visits Rescued Kidnap Victim, Commends Police, DSS for Brave Rescue Operation

Hon. Olubunmi Ezekiel Obeisun, the proactive Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, on Thursday paid a heartfelt visit to Mr. Yaya Sulaimon at Wesley Hospital, Ilesa, following his rescue from the hands of kidnappers.

It would be recalled that news broke two days ago that Mr. Yaya Sulaimon was abducted by unknown gunmen along the Ijebu-Ijesa/Iloko Road, throwing residents of the area into fear and concern over the growing security challenges within the community.

In a swift and coordinated operation, security agencies comprising officers of the Nigeria Police Force led by the Divisional Police Officer, SP Jumoke Alonge Victoria, alongside operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) under the leadership of Oriade DSS Officer in Charge, Lawal, successfully carried out a rescue mission that led to the victim’s freedom.

The operation, which also enjoyed the support and cooperation of vigilant and patriotic citizens of Oriade Local Government, has been widely commended as a strong example of community-security collaboration in tackling criminal activities and restoring peace within the area.

Speaking through a statement issued by his media aide, Hon. Olubunmi Ezekiel Obeisun applauded the bravery, professionalism, and prompt intervention of the Nigeria Police Force, the DSS, and all concerned residents whose collective efforts ensured the safe rescue of the kidnapped victim.

The council chairman further described the successful operation as a reflection of the commitment of security agencies to protecting lives and property, while assuring residents that his administration will continue to support every legitimate effort aimed at strengthening security across Oriade Local Government Area.

According to reports from the Nigeria Police Force, one of the suspected kidnappers was arrested during the operation and has since been transferred to Osogbo for thorough investigation and possible prosecution. Residents have continued to praise the dedication of the security operatives and the courage of local citizens whose timely support contributed immensely to the success of the rescue mission.
