Kano Governor’s Aide Appoints Son As Chief Of Staff
The appointment was announced on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, alongside those of four other aides appointed to serve in various capacities in Aruwa’s office.
Ahmad Aruwa, the Special Adviser on Publicity to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed his son, Aliyu Ahmed, as Chief of Staff in his office.
The appointment was announced on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, alongside those of four other aides appointed to serve in various capacities in Aruwa’s office.
According to a statement signed by Isa Ahmed Don, the newly appointed Director-General of Media and Communication in the Office of the Special Adviser, Aruwa presented appointment letters to the five aides after receiving his own appointment letter.
The other appointees are Habibu Liman as Private Secretary, Adamu Mai Salati as Protocol Officer, Isa Ahmed Don as Director-General of Media and Communication, and Musa Muhammad Daurawa as Personal Assistant.

Speaking shortly after receiving his appointment letter, Aruwa pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by Governor Yusuf through dedication, loyalty and commitment to duty.
He reaffirmed his political allegiance to the governor, declaring, “Let me categorically make it clear that my leader is Abba, my political boss is Abba, and my political party is Abba. Therefore, I will work tirelessly for Abba Kabir Yusuf and support his success at all levels.”
Aruwa also commended his media team for its support, dedication and commitment to the success of his office.
He expressed confidence that the team would continue working together to promote the policies, programmes and achievements of the Kano State Government.
In June 2026, Governor Yusuf appointed Aruwa, the immediate past publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, as his Special Adviser on Publicity.
