Amid the crisis rocking the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and alleged conspiracy to remove Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma as the chairman of the PGF, Reliant.ng has been confided in by a special assistant to the Imo State governor whose name will not be stated in this article.
Responding to questions from our correspondent, the special assistant to the Imo State governor shared his view on the leadership controversy in the PGF, alleging conspiracy by the presidency to remove his principal as the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF).
According to him, the conspiracy had been hatched before president Tinubu’s recent trip to three foreign countries and scheduled for execution while the president is away.
This has been planned several months ago and was planned for execution when the president is not in the country”, the source stated
He added that there had been pressure from the presidency on governor Hope Uzodinma to resign from his position as the chairman of the PGF which he resisted, noting that he is committed to president Tinubu’s reelection.
The truth is that this is not surprising because previously, they had tried to pressured him into resigning but his excellency maintained that he is committed to the reelection of president Tinubu who did not at any point express dissatisfaction over the way he is leading the PGF”.
He added that governor Hope Uzodinma is not deterred by the members of president Tinubu’s presidency who think that they would in the president’s absence, carryout their conspiracy. According to him, governor Hope Uzodinma is focused on the president’s reelection, his commitment renewed by the vote of confidence on his leadership and person by the majority of the members of the PGF.
