Governorship Candidate  Attacked By Amotekun Operatives During Inspection

….of Lameco Flyover

Tension flared at the Lameco Flyover in Osogbo as the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the August 2026 Osun State governorship election, Comrade Olajide Esan, was involved in a confrontation with operatives of the Osun State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) during an inspection of the bridge.

Esan had visited the flyover to assess the reported structural defect, describing the development as a serious concern over the quality of public infrastructure and the management of taxpayers’ funds.

He maintained that he had earlier warned the Osun State Government to ensure strict compliance with engineering standards before the project’s completion.

In a separate video from the scene, an Amotekun operative was seen preventing Esan from moving closer to the bridge, prompting the AAC candidate to question why he was being pushed despite remaining behind the barricade.

His running mate, Bello Muideen Yekeen, alleged that government officials were already carrying out repair works on the bridge while security personnel restricted public access to the site.

The Osun State Government has yet to officially respond to the claims or the incident involving the security operatives.
