Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori reconciles with Tope Alabi after five years of public feud

Nigerian gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori appears to have reconciled with fellow gospel minister Tope Alabi after five years of strained relations.

Intel Region recalls that the rift between the two singers began in June 2021 after Tope Alabi publicly criticised Alaseyori’s hit song, “Oniduro Mi”, which translates to “My Guarantor”.

During her remarks, Tope Alabi argued that describing God as a guarantor did not adequately reflect His immense power and greatness, noting that He was far greater than a mere guarantor.

Her comments sparked widespread reactions on social media, with some Christians accusing her of jealousy and criticising her position on the song.

Following the incident, the two gospel singers reportedly stopped publicly celebrating each other on social media. They were also no longer seen together publicly, while interactions between them on social media appeared to have ceased.

However, the prolonged silence between the gospel ministers may have come to an end after Alaseyori publicly celebrated Tope Alabi on her birthday.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday evening, Alaseyori shared a picture of the veteran gospel singer, accompanied by a birthday message and prayers.

She wrote, “Happy birthday Ma L/Evang @tope_alabi_ and congratulations on your new age.

Sufficient grace, strength and mercy we pray for you, ma. Best of God this day and beyond ma.”

Alaseyori’s public birthday message has sparked hopes among fans that the two gospel singers have put their differences behind them, following repeated calls from supporters for reconciliation
