Ghana slaps DSTV with GHC 10,000 daily fine over failure to submit pricing data
The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology & Innovations has slapped MultiChoice Ghana (DSTV) with a fine of GHC 10,000 per day, effective August 15, 2025, for failing to submit key pricing data requested under the Electronic Communications Act.
Minister Samuel Nartey George said the deadline was extended to Monday, August 11, but DSTV still failed to comply.
The Ministry had earlier warned that DSTV’s license could be suspended if subscription fees weren’t reduced by September 6.
“If taxes are the only reason for the high prices, I’ll push for a tax review,” the Minister said. “If not, DSTV must lower its prices.”
