The National Vice Chairman (South-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, MBBS, PhD, has congratulated His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, on receiving the prestigious Christian Icon Award from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
In a goodwill message issued on the occasion of the award, which forms part of activities marking CAN’s 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee) celebration, Dr. Arodiogbu described the honour as richly deserved and a true reflection of Governor Nwifuru’s exemplary leadership, deep Christian values, and commitment to the service of God and humanity.
He praised the Ebonyi State Governor for consistently demonstrating integrity, compassion, and people-oriented governance that aligns with Christian principles of justice, equity, and care for the vulnerable.
Dr. Arodiogbu noted that Governor Nwifuru’s infrastructural development across the state, promotion of peace, support for religious institutions, and inclusive leadership under the People’s Charter of Needs have earned him widespread recognition beyond the political sphere.
“This Christian Icon Award by the apex Christian body in Nigeria is a well-merited acknowledgement of His Excellency’s outstanding contributions to nation-building and the defence of Christian values,” Dr. Arodiogbu stated.
“Governor Francis Nwifuru has remained a shining example of a leader whose public service is firmly rooted in faith, integrity, and the common good. On behalf of the APC family in the South-East and indeed the entire progressive family, I heartily congratulate him on this distinguished honour.”
Dr. Arodiogbu further prayed that God would continue to strengthen the Governor, grant him greater wisdom, and expand his capacity for impactful service to Ebonyi State and Nigeria at large.
The Christian Association of Nigeria conferred the Christian Icon Award and other honours during its 50th anniversary celebrations held in Abuja, recognising distinguished Nigerians for their contributions to the Christian community and national development.
