Doyin Kukoyi speaks on marriage rumors with veteran actor Ogogo

Actress and TV host Doyin Kukoyi has addressed long-standing rumors linking her romantically to veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Speaking during an interview on Seun Oloketuyi’s YouTube channel, Kukoyi explained that the speculation started back in 2022 after she posted photos from a movie set where she and Ogogo acted as husband and wife. The pictures, taken during a scene at their on-screen daughter’s wedding, quickly went viral and fueled assumptions about a real-life relationship.

“I was at a movie location with Ogogo, we both played the roles of husband and wife where our daughter got married. We took a picture, and I posted it online. Some people took that picture and started saying we were married. Till today, a lot of people still believe that I’m married to Ogogo,” she explained.

Kukoyi admitted that she jokingly referred to Ogogo as her “husband” in the caption of the post, which gave more weight to the speculation. However, she made it clear that her fondness for the actor was purely professional and rooted in admiration for his craft.

“I took the picture with Ogogo because I loved him, not in a romantic way, but because I respect his talent and influence in Nollywood,” she said firmly.

Despite her repeated clarifications, Kukoyi revealed that many fans still bombard her with comments and messages, convinced she is Ogogo’s wife.
