Bandits Abduct Lawmaker, Two Sons From his Residence
The armed assailants stormed Muhammad’s residence in Wucicciri, Abba area of Zaria, in the early hours of Sunday and took him and his two sons to an unknown destination, according to conflict reporter Bakatsine.
Bandits have reportedly abducted Lamido Muhammad, a Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, alongside his two sons, Aliyu Lamido and Amir Lamido.
The armed assailants stormed Muhammad’s residence in Wucicciri, Abba area of Zaria, in the early hours of Sunday and took him and his two sons to an unknown destination, according to conflict reporter Bakatsine.
According to Bakatsine, the whereabouts of abducted Muhammad and his two sons were unknown at the time of filing the report.
Efforts by SaharaReporters to contact the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful, as his phone rang unanswered and he did not respond to messages sent to him.
Earlier, SaharaReporters reported that Ahmed Zakka, a resident of Millennium City in Kaduna State who was abducted alongside his wife and their baby, had appealed to Nigerians, friends and relatives for help after his right hand became swollen and numb following the tight binding of his hands with a rope by his captors.
In a heartbreaking video obtained by SaharaReporters, Zakka was seen in visible pain and distress as he raised his affected hand to show the extent of the swelling while pleading for help.
The abducted man said his right hand had become numb after the bandits tied him tightly with a rope, leaving him afraid that the affected limb could be cut off if he did not receive assistance.
Speaking in the video, Zakka appealed to his relatives, friends and Nigerians to help him, expressing fear over the condition of his hand while apparently still being held captive in the bush.
“Please, I’m seeking help from my relatives and friends because of how tightly they tied my hand. See how my hand has become. Please help me, I don’t want my hand to be cut off,” he said.
