A First class Monarch on the east of Niger, His Imperial Majesty, Obi Dr Austine Ndigwe, Eze Uzu the 3rd The Traditional Ruler of Awka Ancient Kingdom in Anambra State has decried the gruesome murder of Dr. Chike Akunyili, The husband of Late Dr. Dora Akunyili by unknown gun men in Nkpor an outskirts of Onitsha, Anambra State after attending an event held in honour of his wife.
His Imperial Majesty stated that the unprovoked killing of the husband of the former DG of NAFDAC and Former Minister of Information Late Prof. Dora Akunyili is devastating and disheartening.

While we mourn his demise, I call on the security agencies to deploy their officers to embark on intelligence gathering and sharing as well as partner with relevant Stakeholders to ensure that the perpetrators of this crime against humanity are brought to book to face the long arm of the law as well as ensure the security of the lives of Ndi Anambra this Political tensed up period.”*
The monarch called for an expanded critical concerted efforts by the security agencies and all Stakeholders to ensure that the rising spate of violent killings around Anambra is nipped in the bud and brought to an abrupt end.
