Sir Kenneth Ifeatu Obi (Omelora) The Deputy Governorship Candidate of Accord Party and the running mate to Dr Godwin Maduka has bemoaned the brutal and senseless assassination of Dr Chike Akunyili, The husband of Late Prof. Dora Akunyili, the estwhile NAFDAC DG and Communication and information Minister.

Sir Kenneth Obi described the killing of Dr Akunyili and other citizens as gruesome and unwarranted, he therefore called on security agencies to fish out the killers of Dr. Akunyili.

Sir Ken Obi described the rising spate of insecurity in Anambra State as worrisome, He stated that security and welfare of the people is the primary priority of every Government noting that any Government that fails to secure it’s citizens is a failed state.

He therefore urged Gov. Obiano to deploy the CCTV cameras purchased by the state government to ensure that the culprits were brought to book.

*He stated thus, “Security of lives and properties of Ndi Anambra should not be politicised, The welfare and security of the citizens according to section 14 of the CFRN is the primary dutt of Government at all levels. Therefore, it is regrettable that the lives of fellow citizens are cut down and the Government and security agencies seems to be at loss over how to arrest the gory situation, While we commend the. Governor for the 20 Million naira bounty placed on the head of the killers of Dr. Akunyili, we are asking that a preventive measures should be out in place to forestall the reoccurrence of this dastardly act of wickedness.*
