Atletico Madrid open talks with Atalanta over Ademola Lookman transfer

Spanish giants Atlético Madrid have initiated contact with Atalanta regarding a potential transfer for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

Negotiations are said to be ongoing between Atlético, Atalanta, and Lookman’s representatives, though the La Liga side have yet to meet the Italian club’s financial demands.

Atalanta, meanwhile, are more open to selling the Nigerian winger outside Serie A. The club previously rejected an approach from domestic rivals Inter Milan, preferring to avoid strengthening a competitor within the Italian league.

Lookman’s agents have also held discussions with several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Manchester City, as interest in the 27-year-old continues to grow.

With Atlético pushing from Spain and top English clubs circling, Lookman could be set for another high-profile move this summer.
