ADC Takes Over PDP Secretariat
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken over the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat in Yola, following a donation by former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The property, located in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, previously served as the state secretariat of the PDP but will now serve as the operational base of the ADC in Adamawa State. ADC leaders described the gesture as a major boost to their activities in the state and across the North. Umar Jada, popularly known as Calculate and the party’s Assistant National Organizing Secretary, hailed Atiku for the move, saying it would provide ADC with a befitting work environment to mobilize members and strengthen its political presence.
“This gesture by Atiku is a remarkable support for our party,” Jada said. “The facility will help us consolidate our structures in Adamawa and deepen grassroots politics in the North. We are grateful for this act of confidence.”
Atiku, while handing over the building, explained that his decision was rooted in his commitment to fostering political participation and providing credible platforms for reform-minded leadership.
“I believe in creating structures that empower political participation,” Atiku stated.
“Handing over this property to ADC is part of my effort to ensure that credible and reform-minded leadership has the proper foundation to thrive.
Political progress requires infrastructure and organization, and this secretariat will serve as a hub for nurturing young leaders across Adamawa State.”
Aminu Bello, a member of the party, also praised the donation, noting that true leadership goes beyond titles and is about building sustainable platforms for political engagement.
With the new office, ADC is expected to intensify its activities in Adamawa, using the facility as a functional base for mobilization, campaign planning, and grassroots engagement ahead of future elections.
