A viral video of a Nigerian clergywoman, identified as Sis Nkem, has sparked intense debate online after she warned men that having sxxu@l or romantic relationships with widows will bring them lifetime suffering.

In her sermon, which went viral across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X, Sis Nkem claimed that when a man dies, his spirit continues to hover around his wife. According to her preaching: She asserted that every widow is spiritually accompanied by her late husband’s spirit, claiming that this spirit will actively attack any new man who becomes romantically involved with or sleeps with the widow.

She concluded that any man who crosses this line is bound to face severe hardship and suffering in life.

Her sermon have faced widespread criticism on social media. Many users point out that such teachings demonize vulnerable women, create unnecessary fear, and isolate widows who are trying to heal and find love again.

Notably, this teaching reflects a heavily circulated July 2026 sermon by another Nigerian minister, Pastor Julius Ekweozor. He similarly claimed that widows are “married to spirits” and that any man who helps them financially or sleeps with them will have his income attacked by the late husband’s ghost unless traditional separation rituals are performed.
