“Tinubu is not the problem, we are the problem”, Amaechi tells the opposition, cites reasons
Former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has warned the members of the main opposition parties in Nigeria over its levity and inaction in the face of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s questionable policies which needed to be challenged collectively by the opposition parties.

The national leader of the ADC while speaking at the joint press conference of the opposition political parties today, highlighted president Tinubu’s efforts to undermine the opposition parties but blamed the opposition parties for unresisting president Tinubu’s antics and often resorting to inaction and silence in the face of provocation and when Nigerians wish they could collectively checkmate the excesses of the Tinubu’s administration.
Amaechi urged the members of the opposition parties to detach themselves from the Tinubu’s government necessary for them to rise up and play its most needed role.
“Tinubu is not our problem. The problem is the opposition. We need to separate ourselves from the government in power. Tinubu’s pattern is simple. He tries something today, and you’re weak. He puts something bigger, and you’re weaker. Which president goes to France when you’re shouting that the man is stealing our money”, he stated.
Also, Peter Obi while speaking at the joint press conference, described the current administration as the worst since Nigeria’s return to civilian rule in 1999. According to the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, the members of the opposition parties must unite and rescue Nigeria from the current underperforming government which he accused of reversing Nigeria’s gains across years.
Mr. Peter Obi claimed that the major national institutions including the judiciary, the electoral umpire, and the security have been compromised. He lamented that the judiciary which used to be the last hope of the common man, appears to have lost that title under the current government Nigerian led by Tinubu.
