Court Orders Arrest Of DSS Officer, Directs Police To Probe Alleged Offences Against Minor
Court documents obtained by SaharaReporters show that the application was moved by Mr. Kabiru Adamu Esq., who appeared alongside Babangida Garba Esq., as counsel to the applicant.
AMagistrate Court sitting in Hadejia, Jigawa State, has ordered the arrest of a Department of State Services (DSS) personnel, Ifeanyi Festus and directed security agencies to investigate alleged offences following an application brought by Abdulhadi Ibrahim.
The order was issued in Suit No: DCC/01/2026 by His Worship, Sadisu Musa Esq., at the Magistrate Court of Jigawa State in the Jigawa Magisterial District, Hadejia.
The order, signed and sealed by the presiding magistrate, was dated January 2026.

JIGAWA
The lawyers urged the court to invoke its powers under Section 125 and Section 102(5) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) to compel the arrest of the respondent and order a full investigation into the alleged offences.
Granting the application, the court ordered that Ifeanyi Festus be arrested by the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, or by the Deputy Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), including any officers acting under their authority.
In a further directive, the court specifically ordered the Nigeria Police Force, Jigawa State Command, to discreetly investigate the case, signalling the seriousness of the allegations before the court.
The magistrate also issued a separate and urgent order to the Department of State Services, mandating the agency to immediately release and reunite the victim, identified as Walida Abdulhadi, with her parents.
According to the order, “That the defendant be arrested by the Commissioner of Police Jigawa State Police Command or Deputy Director General of the Department of State Security Services and/or any officer under them.
“That the Commissioner of Police Nigerian Police Force Jigawa State Command is HEREBY ORDERED to discreetly investigate this case.
“That the Department of State Security Service Shall immediately release/reunite the Victim (WALIDA ABDULHADI) to her parent.”
