Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned president Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what he regards as missteps by the president that could result in his shameful fall.
The leader of the INRI evangelical spiritual church in a video shared on his church’s Facebook page, in what he termed as prophetic warning to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his management of Nigeria’s economy, his borrowings, the proposed state police, and relationship with the US government led by president Donald Trump, warned that the Nigeria’s president must be cautious about his approach to the nation issues.
In the video which Reliant.ng came across on Facebook, Primate Elijah Ayodele started by informing president Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to rely on the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), professor Nentawa Yilwatda. According to him, the current national chairman of the APC lacks the political wit and strength to earn him electoral victory in 2027 especially in the face of the ongoing conspiracy against his administration as well as growing insecurity and hunger in the country. He stated that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu relying on the new APC chairman amounts to the end of his presidency.
Speaking about the country’s economy and president Tinubu’s economic strategy, primate Elijah Ayodele advised the president to stop borrowing from foreign financial institutions and countries. He warned that the country will likely collapse if the president continues to apply and receive foreign loans. He advised that the president must look inwardly on how to boost Nigeria’s revenue generations by seeking collaboration with governors of states with mineral resources and other economic potentials. He urged president Tinubu to explore such local opportunities and partner with China and other countries as potential buyers of the nation’s resources. He said, that way, the president will reduce the loan burden on the nation amid the public outcry over the president excessive borrowing.
Primate Elijah Ayodele also warned president Bola Ahmed Tinubu against entering into any kind of agreement with the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump. He warns that the president must understand that he can not please the use government by entering into agreement with it. He said Donald Trump will likely betray him and renege on any agreement they reached with him; hence, he must be wary of the US and stop thinking that he can play himself into the good books of the US government.
He further warned the president to avoid joining issues with US government especially as he appears not to be in good light with Donald Trump’s led government. He noted that the US president will not hesitate to “whip him” at any time he chooses to do so.
On proposed state police, primate Elijah Ayodele advised that president should not go ahead with his proposal for the creation of state police. According to him, Nigeria is not ripe for such a complex security architecture whose complexity might overwhelm Nigerian people’s. He added that the state police will likely degenerate to conflict of interest among the ruling class at the expense of the helpless poor Nigerians.
