NAPTAN Supports FG’s Move to Shut Schools Charging Fees in Dollar

The National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN) has thrown its full support behind the federal government’s decision to close down schools that charge tuition fees in foreign currencies.

NAPTAN described the practice as unfair and exploitative, saying it goes against Nigeria’s national interest. The group said no school should force parents to pay in dollars when the country’s official currency is the naira.

They urged the government to take firm action to protect parents and ensure education remains affordable and accessible for Nigerian students.
