2027 Elections: ADC Candidates Reportedly Defect To APC In Four Northern States
The former ADC House of Assembly candidates, led by Princess Aslam Aliyu,
Former African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates from Jigawa, Plateau, Taraba and Zamfara states have reportedly defected to the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former ADC House of Assembly candidates, led by Princess Aslam Aliyu, also known as Gimbiyar Kauran Namoda, formally submitted their resignation letters to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
The resignation letters were presented to Yilwatda at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
The development marks a move by the former ADC candidates to join the ruling APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
The defectors expressed their decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election as they joined the APCfrom the four northern states.
Receiving the resignation letters, Yilwatda assured the new members of an inclusive platform within the party.
He said they would have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the APC’s programmes and activities.
The APC chairman welcomed the defectors into the party and urged them to participate in its activities as preparations continue ahead of the 2027 elections.
