While it is easy to criticize, the question every Ekiti son and daughter must ask is: what has Dr. Oluyede himself contributed to the growth and development of Ekiti State?

Contributions Matter More Than Rhetoric

For years, Dr. Oluyede has built his professional career overseas as a medical doctor, far removed from the realities of the ordinary Ekiti people he now claims to speak for. It is not in doubt that politics thrives on promises, but genuine leadership is measured by past and present contributions.

How many lives has Dr. Oluyede touched positively in Ekiti?

How many free healthcare programmes has he organized in his local government, let alone across the state?

Where was he when Ekiti indigenes needed social, economic, and medical interventions over the years?

Appearing Only When Election Approaches

It has become a common trend for some aspirants to resurface only when election beckons, brandishing lofty promises of “heaven and earth.” The people of Ekiti are wiser now. They know the difference between leaders who work consistently and those who only come around when political power is up for grabs.

Oyebanji’s Efforts Cannot Be Dismissed

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji may not have solved every challenge overnight, but his administration has consistently demonstrated commitment to infrastructure renewal, social investment, youth empowerment, and community development across the state. To dismiss these efforts as “four wasted years” is not only unfair but also shows a lack of touch with reality.

Ekiti Deserves Leaders of Proven Impact

The task before Ekiti is not about where a candidate comes from, but about who has genuinely invested time, resources, and ideas into the state before seeking office. Governance should not be a retirement plan or an emergency ambition it should be an extension of a lifetime of service to the people.

Rather than throwing stones at those already working, Dr. Oluyede should first present his record of tangible contributions to Ekiti before asking the people to entrust him with their future. Our people deserve leaders who are tested, consistent, and selfless—not opportunistic contenders who appear only when it is convenient.
