Wike to Amaechi: “Since I Abandoned You, Tell Me One Election You Have Won”
Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a sharp dig at his longtime political rival and predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, questioning his electoral success since their political fallout.
In a fiery remark that has begun circulating widely, Wike declared: “Since I abandoned you, tell me one election you have won.”
The comment is being interpreted as a direct reference to the bitter political divorce between the two heavyweights from Rivers State. Once close allies, the relationship between Wike and Amaechi collapsed years ago, leading to one of the most intense political rivalries in the South-South region.
The latest jab comes amid ongoing tensions between both camps as political realignments continue ahead of future elections. Supporters of Wike have hailed the statement as a blunt reminder of political realities, while allies of Amaechi have dismissed it as unnecessary provocation.
