WIKE BEGS FUBARA: “I’M SORRY, PLEASE FORGIVE ME” — SEEKS SUPPORT FOR CHINDA AND TINUBU

The political drama in Rivers State appears to be taking another dramatic turn as former Governor and Rainbow Coalition leader, Nyesom Wike, reportedly visited Governor Siminalayi Fubara at his private residence, where a private stakeholders’ meeting was held with the Governor’s supporters.

According to the account making the rounds, Wike was said to have repeatedly appealed to Fubara for forgiveness, reportedly saying:

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Please, I need your forgiveness.”

Sources alleged that Wike’s appeal was linked to the current political realignment in Rivers State and his desire to regain the support of Fubara and his political camp.

The former governor was also reportedly seeking their backing for Chinda and the wider political interests of the Rainbow Coalition, while stressing the importance of maintaining his relevance within the emerging political equation ahead of 2027.

The claim further alleges that Wike told those present that pressure was mounting from APC governors and other political leaders, and that he needed his former allies back on his side.

The bigger political calculation, according to the account, is whether Wike can use the reconciliation to demonstrate to President Bola Tinubu that he remains a major political force in Rivers State and beyond.

For now, the big question is:

Has Wike genuinely returned to seek reconciliation with Fubara, or is this simply another strategic move in the complex Rivers State political chessboard?

And if Fubara accepts the apology, what happens to the political battles that brought both men to this point?

Rivers politics just keeps getting more interesting.
