Veteran performer Charly Boy has revisited his much-discussed 2014 altercation with Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, and defended his behaviour during the event.
In an interview, Charly Boy recounted stealing the previous governor’s microphone during his speech at his father’s funeral.
He claimed that he was adamantly against the occasion being utilised for political campaigning.
“Mmhmm. Is that a cr!me? I for don sl@p am. He wanted to use my father’s burial as a campaign for politics. And you don’t do that. Not when I’m around,” he said.

Interviewer: “In 2014, there was something that happened with the former governor of Imo state. He was speaking and you collected the Mic from him.
Charly Boy: “Mmhmm. Is that a cr!me? I for don sl@p am. He wanted to use my father’s burial as a campaign for politics. And you don’t do that. Not when I’m around. You don’t do that kind of bull$h!t so I had to send him out.
And he knew he was in my territory. Even with all his bodyguards, na my territory him dey…”
