Why Gov. Fubara Did Not Attend President Tinubu’s Iftar Dinner With State-governors Revealed

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state and governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State were conspicuously absent at president Tinubu’s Iftar dinner with State-governors in Abuja yesterday.

President Tinubu hosted the state-governors across faith in Abuja yesterday to break fast as Christians and Muslim are coincidentally observing Lent fast and Ramadan fast respectively.

Reliant.ng gathered that most of Nigeria’s state-governors were president at the occasion except three: governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state.

While governor Seyi Makinde and his political ally, governor Bala Mohammed deliberately avoided the occasion due to their uncordial relationship with the presidency, governor Siminalayi Fubara did not attend the Iftar dinner with the president because he was not in the country.

Reliant.ng inquired why the Rivers state governor did not attend the Iftar dinner with the president from a top government official in Rivers state who disclosed that the governor was not in the country and had informed president Tinubu about his absence.

“His Excellency governor Sim Fubara had informed the president about his scheduled engagement outside the country when he heard about the president’s decision to host the states-governors for Iftar dinner”, he stated
